UBMA is an organisation for Laboratory Superintendents and Managers in university biological, biochemical and life science departments, schools and faculties. The University Biological Supervisors' Association (UBSA) was formed in 1983 by two superintendents from the University of Sheffield. In April 2000 the name was changed to the University Bioscience Managers' Association. The group have an annual conference hosted by one of the member universities.
